How to Cook Everything App Reviews

This is my go-to place when I am thinking about cooking something and I need a reference.

Paid for this app less than a year ago. Now it tells me I need to upgrade to have access to any of the material. Does cooking really alter so much in a year that I should be willing to get the latest methods to my iPhone?

This app is great. Basic and advanced techniques and many variations on recipes. Terrific addition to my fairly large cookbook library. I think most home cooks would find this useful.

First, not a lot of recipes for common dishes. I guess I should know how to cook these already! One dish I did find had the cook time, but no clue at what temperature. Right, I should already know that. Why would I ever need a recipe cookbook at least this one.

This app is a game changer. I like to cook and cook alot. Bittman is my man; I feel like he taught me how to cook when I got my first copy of his cookbook after graduating college. Now I hardly ever get out my well-loved, well-used 2nd ed of his book. I use this app instead, exclusively. So functional, so easy to use...same great, simple recipes.

This app has fantastic recipes. But it was never updated for post the post-iOS 7 user interface style not adjusted for the iPhone 6 screen size. I realize this app is one done by a company that licensed the books content, but this is disappointing. Again, fantastic recipes—Im reviewing the presentation layer here.

I got this app for my iPad, and it has an easy to use intuitive interface. It doesnt have every basic recipe ever, neither do Bittmans books, but it has an excellent array of basics. Getting it on the iPhone as well was a pleasant surprise. Still using this app on a regular basis. Still easy to use and informative.

This is the most helpful cookbook I have ever had. And the app design is excellent. Better than having a hard copy.

I love this app. The recipes are very easy to follow,and taste great. Suddenly Im making the best raspberry pie people have ever had.

The title says it all. Truly the best, most comprehensive and helpful cooking app on the iTunes App Store, by far.

I really like this app, but the same 3 recipes have been featured for several months now, if not the last year or so. The last update was done in 2014. Really hate to think I spent money on this, and they dropped the ball and quit supporting the app.

Bought this app a few years ago and used it to make some great dishes - including some I never thought Id make - and they turned out great. Plus, the advice on what types of kitchen tools to get is a super-great idea and everything is very easy to understand. I have found myself frustrated lately, though, with the inability to share recipes with other apps (like list apps so I can easily grocery shop). And, longer ago, I was very frustrated by no cloud syncing - so when I find a recipe on my iPad app and then save it to the apps grocery store list feature, but then it doesnt sync to the iPhone version of the app. So, if I want the list, I must carry the iPad with me to the grocery store. So, while it is easier to use the iPad for the search for recipes and then its easier to take the iPhone to the grocery store, it doesnt quite work easily. In the end, I just didnt use this feature and found another app. But I cant export the recipes from this app to the list. So, well, Im frustrated and dont use this app - which I used to love - all that much anymore. An update would fix that.

This app has some great features, including built-in timer, no-sleep mode (do you really want to touch your iPad with raw meat on your hands?), and various lists to keep track of your favorite recipes. It also has very good illustrations (but no videos). It doesnt have notes, and favorites just dont work on my iPad. Ive tried to save recipes to the list a number of times. It does have a recent recipes list, but that isnt as useful if youve been looking through a bunch of recipes to find one that sounds good. This would be a killer app if it allowed you to save your own recipes. The built-in tools are great additions to apps that only work as recipe boxes... As it is, Ill stick to Recipe Box for my own stuff and things Ive found online.

Simple disappointed, was $10 wasted..

I have notifications turned on to let me know when a new recipe is available. But not received anew recipe in what seems like forever. Why?
